Scripps Pier up close under a full Moon!

Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Birch Aquarium have teamed up to give the public an experience of a lifetime seeing the Scripps Pier up close. The Scripps Pier is primarily used for scientific research and generally off limits to the general public.

Now, it’s your chance to experience the 1,090-foot long concrete pier.  For two days every month from July through October the public has been invited to take a stroll on the Scripps Pier under the glow of a full moon. While you on the pier you will be able to experience the Scripps Institution of Oceanography’s campus in a whole new way. It’s great for the family or a fabulous date night for couples.

The cost is $30 per person ($25 for aquarium members), visitors get more than just a moonlit walk they will get a tour of the Scripps Campus at dusk. You will also experience samples of the scientific work that is performed at the pier. The tours will be lead by educators from The Birch Aquarium. Go ahead, now is your chance to take full advantage of walking and exploring the Scripps Pier!

August            25th & 26th          7:00PM – 8:30PM

September     24th & 25th          6:00PM – 7:30PM

October          24th & 25th          6:00PM – 7:30PM
