The 35th annual La Jolla Half Marathonis taking place on Sunday, April 22, 2018, the course is both beautiful and challenging. Beginning adjacent to the Del Mar Fairgrounds main entrance, the course continues to the summit of Torrey Pines State Park, dips down to the residential district of La Jolla Shores, and finishes on the grass in the park at La Jolla Cove.
Once you head into La Jolla the race course follows along North Torrey Pines Road and heads into the Torrey Pines State Reserve, are some of the most scenic of any road race in America. Runners will pass by gorgeous, steep and rocky bluffs that peer over into the waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing below, as the sails of hang gliders and ultralite flyers pass through the sky in the distance.
