April 24-26
If you are an avid reader of my blog then you know I love flowers! And this time of the year is one of my favorites! Why do you ask? One of my favorite exhibits in San Diego is on display Art Alive at The San Diego Museum of Art! The San Diego Museum of Art invites floral designers into the galleries to interpret some of the greatest art in San Diego’s collection. This year’s theme will honor the “100th Anniversary of Balboa Park”
The 34th annual Art Alive will feature over 120 floral designers who will present their exquisite floral interpretations of famous works of art. The goal is to bring these masterpieces to life in an amazing way filled of brilliant colors, wonderful textures and different shapes. The festivities kick off Thursday night April 23 with a private party and conclude Sunday April 26
This year the Rotunda Designer floral designer is Rene’van Rems, this will be his seventh time designing it. He will transform the Rotunda back to the 1915 with floral inspirations of Old English and lush garden styles of that time period, which will grace the staircase and upstairs lobby.
Art Alive has been a San Diego tradition for the past 34 years! It’s the Museum’s signature fundraiser, providing critical support for the permanent collection.
