Welcome to La Jolla, California!
As a La Jolla Realtor my clients and visitors alike always ask me “what are the best places to visit in La Jolla? I generally tell them about all of La Jolla’s great attractions but now I have a wonderful map for them! My good friend TourGuideTim has created a map of La Jolla & San Diego that pinpoint all the important sites.
La Jolla is a seaside resort community of over 42,000 residents within the city of San Diego, California. La Jolla borders Pacific Beach to the south and extends north to Torrey Pines State Reserve and Del Mar, California. La Jolla is comprised of a myriad of neighborhoods such as: Bird Rock, Windansea, The Village of La Jolla , La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Farms, Torrey Pines, Mount Soledad and La Jolla Village (including La Jolla Village Square). Interstate 5 forms La Jolla’s man-made border to the east, with the exception of some University of California, San Diego and commercial property east of I-5 and north of La Jolla Village Drive, which is also part of La Jolla.
San Diego Map
The San Diego Map shows 20 miles of San Diego beaches from Coronado to Torrey Pines. It includes which exits to use to visit Pacific Beach, La Jolla, La Jolla Shores, and Torrey Pines. Alongside the Map of San Diego are things to do in La Jolla and special offers for the Birch Aquarium, the Torrey Pines Golf Shop, and Kayak Tours.
La Jolla Shores Map
The La Jolla Shores Map shows the main beach area serving the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. This is the area for kayaking or snorkeling with Hike Bike Kayak, SCUBA diving, taking a surf lesson with Surf Diva, going for a long walk on the beach, visiting the Birch Aquarium, and finishing up with a great meal at Piatti.
La Jolla Shores is 12.5 miles or about a 22 minute drive north of downtown San Diego. It is between Torrey Pines to the north and the Village of La Jolla to the southwest.
La Jolla Village Map
The La Jolla Village Map shows tourists the best place to go for a walk in San Diego and get the quintessential Southern California experience.
In the Village you will find a variety of wonderful art galleries, restaurants and stores to visit. Or Walk along La Jolla Cove to watch the sea lions, pelicans, and cormorants play in the same area as ocean swimmers, snorkelers, divers and tourists.

I’m glad to have put together this map, which is attracting a great response, to help visitors and new residents get acquainted with some of the best places to visit in and around La Jolla.
If anyone is considering relocating to the area, I can share with you my first hand experience as I’m a transplant from the East Coast.
People considering a move to San Diego join my public tour to La Jolla or hire me for a private tour of the area so they can get a very good understanding about all aspects of San Diego…not just things to see and do but to learn about the local business climate, cultural differences between various parts of town, and much more.
TourGuideTim Thank you! I love your map and so do my clients! Your tours are the best in La Jolla!
